6 Things Brides Forget to do Before the Wedding

What Brides Forget

The moments leading up to your walk down the aisle can be a bit unnerving. Excitement mixed with anxiousness typically hits us all, and inevitably some details of the day get overlooked. We’ve put together a quick list of what little things brides often forget so you can remember them!

1) Use the Restroom

No one wants to be focusing on “holding it” during one of the happiest moments of their lives. Standing in front of your loved ones for 30 minutes or more can seem like an eternity if you’ve got to go. Do yourself a favor and make a pit stop to a restroom before lining up to go down the aisle.

2) Charge Their Cell Phone

While you may not be holding it in hand during the formal parts of the day, you might like to have it for a few selfies, getting ready, or at your reception. It’s also best practice to have it charged just in case your planner, or hubby-to-be has a question. Make sure it’s plugged in the night before, and again in the bridal suite when getting ready. You’ll be happy it’s one less thing to worry about!

3) Marriage License

You don’t want to get caught without this one! Being legally married is kind of the whole point of the day. Place this document with your most important items, in/on/near things you won’t forget (like your purse/phone/keys).

We put together a bridal tote so I wouldn’t have to remember it all. In the days leading up to the wedding the marriage license, our passports, my comfy shoes for the reception, etc were placed in the bag and I knew I was good to go!

4) Invitation Suite

We can’t tell you how many brides put this on their must-have shot list, only to forget it the day-of. Of course it’s not the end of the world, but if you really look forward to a styled shot of these items pack an invitation suite just as you sent it to your guests. Place it into your bridal bag, purse, or whatever tote you know you’ll have with you in your bridal suite. As mentioned above, do it ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about it again!

5) Place Cash Tips in Envelopes

Forgetting to tip vendors is really common. The funny thing is, it’s not that couples don’t intend to tip or don’t think their vendors deserve it. In today’s mostly cashless society it’s not at the forefront of our minds to stop by an ATM to grab cash. This is especially true the days leading up to the wedding, because naturally our attention is on more important issues. We suggest putting together the envelopes for whomever you’d like to tip and hand them off to your planner/coordinator, or even a loved one, to pass out at the reception.

6) Packing a Supplies Box

As I’ve mentioned, I packed a bridal bag for everything I knew I’d need as a bride. Tim and I also packed a supplies box to hand over to our loved ones who were setting up our decor at the ceremony and reception. Place inside table numbers, candles, cake knives, the greeting card box, any pictures you want to display, your guest book, and the like so it’s all safely in one bin and easily transportable. Be sure to include instructions on how you’re like everything set up (we went over everything in person, as well as going so far as to draw diagrams. We’re artists, how could we NOT?!). Don’t forget to also coordinate who will be placing all of the items back into the bin, and how you will collect it post-wedding.
