Lady Bird Farms Wedding

On a golden summer afternoon in Rockwell, North Carolina Ashlee and Christopher exchanged vows at Lady Bird Farms, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Lady Bird Farms, a barn venue within an hour of Charlotte, created the perfect backdrop for their rustic and elegant ceremony.

The Ceremony

As guests arrived, they were greeted by acres of open fields, large trees, and of course, the beautiful barn complete with charming glass doors. They took their seats in the pews behind the barn and enjoyed views of the pond, trees, and even a few cows. Ashlee looked incredible in her beaded white gown with the corset back, and Chris looked dashing in his grey suit and pale blue tie.

Portraits

After the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktail hour inside the air-conditioned barn (something we are all thankful for during June weddings!). Ashlee, Chris, Tim, and I bounced around the property simply creating and having fun. We really enjoyed working at this venue because of all of the potential it offers. There are woods, a treelined shaded area, twinkle lights in the trees, the pond, open fields, and obviously the barn to use. All of these places are within a short walking distance helping give the venue’s clients a variety of photographs even under short time restraints.

The Reception

One of our favorite times of day is the reception. It’s when parents get the dances they’ve imagined a million times over since the day their child was born, and after is when everyone can finally let loose! We’re known to join in the fun and throw on our dancing shoes too (it’s a party, right?!). We had a great time capturing everyone celebrating, belly laughing, and showing off their dance skills. Not many wedding days go by without a hitch, but this one somehow went perfectly and we couldn’t be happier for these two!
