Carolina Country Weddings
This wedding is certainly one I won’t soon forget! It was my first time photographing a wedding at Carolina Country Weddings and I know it won’t be my last. This stunning venue is tucked away, hidden between the rolling hills of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. It was also my first time working with Phylicia of Phylicia Willis Photography. Her work is incredible guys. Trust me, go check her out! But back to this wedding: if you’re a lover of the pampas grass trend, boho vibes, and all-out FUN this one is for you. Scroll down to see some unforgettable wedding inspiration!
The Location
This wedding venue offers an incredible variety of options and views. Whether you’re “longing for a mountainesque view but wanting to stay local” or you’re “looking for a Pinterest-worthy woodland ceremony, but you want a beautiful plan B in case of rain” – they have it all. (Source: https://www.carolinacountryweddings.com/). We photographed the First Look on the hillside facing the reception space, the ceremony in the woodland area, and captured couples portraits in the fields and pastures of the rolling hills. (Shouting from the hilltops, “WE’RE MARRIED!” and soaking in the reality isn’t something you get to experience at most venues. Just sayin’!)
They have on-site accommodations, let you bring your own vendors, help you plan your wedding, and even have a beautiful farmhouse that is perfect for small weddings and elopements. Their team has years of experience, and as you’ll see from the images, their creativity generates a feast for the eyes!
The Décor
Samantha has such an authentic style, and I just loved all of the details of her day. From her ankle boots and flower crown all the way to her jaw-dropping pampas grass arbor (created by the incredible Chelish Moore Flowers), her day was a bohemian wedding dream. Her color palette was a mix of fall tones like gold, green, navy, burgundy, lilac, and peach.
One thing I really loved about their wedding was how unabashedly genuine it was. She and Nathan are Harry Potter fans and used the famous “Always” as their cake topper. They also had some of the coolest chair signs referencing Game of Thrones with the words, “My Sun and Stars” and “Moon of My Life”.
They chose to forgo any formal dinner and treated everyone to Hungry Howies pizza. There were cornhole boards, a canoe full of ice and beers, a photo booth, and an overall down-to-Earth playful vibe that was exhilarating!
Thank you to Phylicia for inviting me to photograph this day alongside you. I appreciate your openness and willingness to teach others in this magnificent community of photographers. I hope we get to work together again very soon!
We hope this gives inspiration to current and future couples! Ready for an amazing wedding day? Get in touch!
