Childress Vineyards Wedding
This day might have been windy and chilly, but this Childress Vineyards wedding is one of our favorite weddings of the year! Margeaux and Jason are like many 2020 couples. They married during a small ceremony with immediate family and decided to host the reception with all of their family and friends when the world was a bit safer. We say it was worth the wait because this party was one heck of good time!
No Ceremony
One unique perk to this Childress Vineyards wedding is there was no ceremony! Margeaux and Jason married in 2020, and decided not to have a vow renewal. Having this extra time in the timeline allowed them to hang with their friends, get ready at a comfortable pace, knock out the first look and portraits, then get straight to the fun parts!
Portraits
You’re Wearing THAT?!
One of the best parts of the day was Jason and his best man playing a joke on Margeaux. The best man decided to rent an obnoxious, bold-colored jacket and tell Margeaux this was the jacket the rental company supplied and he’d have to wear it the whole day. Needless to say, the wedding party was dying laughing when the moment finally happened. It’s moments like these that are some of our favorites! When couples can be themselves and show their sense of humor, that’s when weddings really feel like them.
Despite it being a cooler April than most causing the vines in the vineyards to not be lush and green, we had no issue creating beautiful portraits at this venue. We started couple’s portraits inside to warm up a bit after photographing the wedding party outside. This worked out perfectly because we were able to photograph a few portraits with these awesome kingly chairs Jason wanted to incorporate. The window light is lovely, and if you can’t tell by our work, getting real laughs and smiles is our goal. Jason knocked it out of the park when we asked him to whisper something in Margeaux’s ear to make her laugh. Thus, our inside joke of “Bacon, egg, and cheese” began. Becoming genuine friends with our couple’s is the ultimate win, and I’m so glad we found just that in these two!
We did venture back out during the day, but my personal favorite portrait time was going out during dinner at sunset. The sky was an intense mix of gold, purple, and blue. This was a perfect opportunity to capture a few silhouettes like the one you see at the top of this post.
Bye, Bye, Bye!
It’s fun getting to the reception of each wedding because people can surprise you once they hit the dance floor. Those who have been reserved all day may suddenly tear up the dance floor! Margeaux and Jason had a lively crowd which makes our job so much fun! Some of the best dance floor moments were when two of the guests danced the entire routine to “Bye, Bye, Bye” by Nsync or when Margeaux and her girls belted their lungs out to some of their favorite hits.
Here are a few of our favorite wedding photos from Margeaux and Jason’s Childress Vineyards wedding!
