5 Ways to include Your Pet in Your Wedding

Incorporating Your Pet

If you’re an animal lover, or just love your own furry friend, you may want to include your pet in your wedding. You might be surprised at how many ways you can do this! While you can scour the internet for an infinite number of ideas, I’ve rounded up 5 amazing ideas for you!

1) Ring Bearer or Groomsman

This is by far the most popular idea, and you’ve most likely seen an image of this floating around Pinterest. You can dress your furry friend up in adorable tuxedoes, bow tie collars, signs, and more.

Be sure to consider your pet’s personality before committing to this idea. If your pup, for example, isn’t leash trained and/or tends to shy away from strangers, you might want to choose another way to include them!

2) Bouquets

If you heavily use Pinterest and Instagram for your wedding planning inspiration, you’ve most likely come across this ever-growing trend. It’s not only adorable, but it’s for a good cause! First, couples choose their favorite animal shelter and coordinate using puppies, kittens, or the like to help them get adopted. Next, the announcement is made as guests arrive that all of the animals are up for adoption! Then the bridesmaids (and groomsmen if willing) carry one of these sweet babies down the aisle, hold and socialize them throughout the day, and hopefully some guests can’t resist taking one home. As a result, it basically turns into a small puppy fair, and everyone’s hearts are full by the end of your magical day!

3) Photo Booth Props

This idea is super fun! It’s especially useful if you want to include your pet, but aren’t able to physically make them part of your day. You can make cutouts for people to hold over their faces, or get a giant print out! Your guests will most likely get a kick out of it, and it doesn’t affect the theme of the day.

4) Cookies

I don’t know about you, but I love seeing artistic cookies! Especially videos showing how they make them. Whether you want to include them on your dessert table, or use them as favors, having cookies made in the likeness of your fur baby is adorable and delicious! This is another easy way for your pet to be included when they aren’t able to be there in person.

5) Save the Dates, Invitations, and Thank You Cards

Choosing a photo of you all together for your save the dates, or thank you cards is an easy way to include your pet. These types of printed materials are generally a little more relaxed, so even more silly versions are acceptable. Invitations can be as formal or informal as you want. You can have a small likeness used as a fleuron on sophisticated designs, use a pup or kitty as your wax seal on your envelopes, or use them as your return address. If stamps strike your interest, check out Etsy! There are SO many awesome custom designs out there!
