Mint Museum Uptown Wedding
It is always exciting photographing weddings in beautiful places, but when you really connect with your clients and become friends with cameras, it takes it to a whole new level. Tori and John’s Mint Museum Uptown wedding was exactly this scenario. To top it off, the weather and the level of fun their friends brought to the wedding reception made it truly a picture-perfect day.
The day started out with Tori getting ready at their new home. This honestly makes the images THAT much more special! Tori had the sweetest bridesmaids’ first look in her living room. John got ready at a family member’s house nearby and enjoyed a drink with the guys before heading to the ceremony.
Once we arrived at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, we captured quite possibly the sweetest father-daughter first look we’ve ever photographed. Tori and her dad have such a special relationship and it was such a special moment to be a part of.
After their beautiful ceremony, we captured epic autumn photographs in Freedom Park with their wedding party. Following a few portraits of them there, we continued with couple’s portraits outside the Mint Museum. One of the best parts of having a Mint Museum Uptown wedding is there are many opportunities for both urban and greenery-filled photographs within a short walking distance.
Next, this couple and their friends and family rocked out! They truly celebrated and danced the night away with fun sunglasses and hats being passed throughout the crows. Let me tell you, when Bohemian Rhapsody came on, there wasn’t a person in the museum not belting their lungs out. It was awesome!
Here is what Tori had to say leading up to her wedding:
1. What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Cheesy, but true…Getting to marry my best friend
Dancing & enjoying the company of our friends/family
2. What inspired your wedding dΓ©cor? Did you have a theme in mind?
Simple, romantic, & classic. We really just love the look of a lot of candles & greenery.
3. Why did you pick the venues that you chose?
We enjoy visiting the Mint (and love art museums in general), the architecture of the building and the space are incredible–the 5 story atrium space is so cool, & the location uptown is really convenient for our guests.
4. What is your favorite feature about your wedding venue?
Tie between the incredible art (esp. Chihuly chandelier) on display & the outdoor terrace/front steps
6. Tell us about the food/drink at your wedding.
Most of our guests are not from the south, so we thought it would be fun to have some more traditional southern/BBQ for our food. And it’s really important to us that no one leaves hungry and has plenty of energy to dance the whole night.
7. Which part of your wedding did you want to WOW your guests?
The venue & food!
