Jetton Park Engagement Session

This day was extra special! We met Savina for her bridal session and then jumped right into an engagement session with her fiancé Austin an hour later! This was our first time at Jetton Park, and we immediately fell in love. There are so many different backgrounds available in just a short walk. If springtime greenery and florals are what you’re dreaming of, look no further!

The Location

Jetton Park is a 104-acre park in Cornelius, NC, and it has something for everybody. There are beautiful grassy areas by the water that are perfect for picnics, paved trails that take you through towering trees, a sandy beach area, and more. We love that there are public restrooms that make it easy for outfit changes. There are also concessions if you need to stop for a drink/snack, and a playground should little ones be joining in the session.

My favorite part of this session was the flowers. I was blown away by the variety and quantity. If If you’re wanting beautiful, natural florals in your images, be sure to time your session at Jetton Park in April. Most flowers here bloom for 2 weeks. Therefore, speak to your photographer to make sure everything is timed right. 😉👍

The Shoot

Making our clients comfortable is always at the top of the list. Savina let me know Austin doesn’t like having his photo taken and he usually makes the “fake smile”. We make our sessions fun and interactive. Grabbing pictures of real laughs is our goal. Naturally, it fills me with joy to see him cracking up in some of these photographs. 😄

We started our session with Savina and Austin in their traditional Vietnamese attire near the manicured garden. I just love these colors on them! Savina’s mom asked for pictures in these outfits. Therefore, we made sure to capture some traditional portraits here. Later, we did an outfit change and explored near the water. On our way, we came across a few different flowering bushes that were in full bloom! They created perfect backdrops to enhance the photographs and make them even more dreamy.

We ended the evening on the beach as the sun set. Barefoot, walking hand-in-hand. Sounds dreamy, right?! Scroll down to see some of our favorites!
